The Drinks Express (The Express) is a bunch of people who just so happen to enjoy a swim at 6:30 am every morning at Manly. We meet in front of the Manly LSC at about 6:20 am and have a chat OTR (On The Ramp) for a few minutes before starting our swim at 6:29 am.

We swim to Shelly Beach & back; it’s roughly 650m over and back. But you don’t have to swim each way — you can do your own thing, and it’s your responsibility whether you swim or not. Every day is different, so it’s up to each swimmer to assess their own abilities against the conditions. Not too sure? Grab a coffee!

We are not a club, or a team, or an association. We are people that enjoy a dip, a coffee, and a chat. From time to time we raise money for causes and welcome like-minded people to join us.

There is no delegated authority representing The Express. When entering the water, it is up to you to ensure you are confident and competent for the conditions of the day. We often swim before lifeguards are on duty. Ocean swimming requires fitness and understanding of the ocean. You are responsible for your participation. Not too sure? Grab a coffee!
